Pastel Colours are a five piece band from the not so sunny shores of Falmouth. Despite that, they’re doing all they can to fill our eardrums with explosions of sunshine and psychedelic groove. The psychedelic movement is having a bit of a revival at the moment with the likes of Temples and Jagwar Ma putting their own twists on the genre.
The debut track by Pastel Colours, ‘Hands Like Silk’, does everything right and doesn’t try to be too complicated. The band are showing that all you need is a catchy little hook and some commanding, fading lyrics and you’re halfway there. There are even elements of The Stone Roses at points. With only one track to their name so far, we look forward to seeing what more they have to throw at us.
